When I was in grad school in Classics, I tutored individual students in Latin, and occasionally substituted as a Latin instructor. I was a teaching assistant for a medical terminology course, a Greek Mythology course, and a couple of ancient history courses. In the Marine Corps, I've taught prepared and informal classes on a variety of military subjects, some related to the Marine Corps Martial Arts program (Responsible Use of Force, the Spartans, Marine Raiders in WWII, etc), in which I was an instructor trainer for 6 years. The best part of teaching or tutoring is when the light goes on -- the student gets it - whether 'it' is the forward shoulder roll or the subjunctive mood. I've available for tutoring any time that I'm not away on reserve duty (1 weekend/month and 2 weeks annual training).
